I hope to see him sometime over the next week and give him his quilt! Rick has lymphoma and I chose the same Brick Road quilt that we made for Karene's husband two years ago. Laurie recently spilled the beans to him at a meeting, that "my mom is making you a quilt!" and he was apparently delighted. He told her to tell me to hurry....that he was cold!
She said he winked and laughed, and we're not sure if he's really that cold (we do live in SoCal, after all, and it has been in the 80's for days!) or just eager to have his quilt! I'll post another picture with Rick after I'm able to get it to him!

Lovely colours in the quilt. I am sure he is going to love it.
I got the following email from Kris, one of the ladies hosting the One a Month challenge and wanted to post it here so I would not lose it! She says:
Hey Joy!
Congrats on your January finish! Your quilt looks FABULOUS and I’m sure Rick will love it! I popped into your blog to take a peek, which is how I know what your quilt looks like and that it’s for Rick! I’d also love it if you could pass on my well wishes to Rick! So pleased you’re enjoying the ‘little’ challenge that May Britt and I are running – it’s so much fun to see so many people from all around the world enjoying their stitching – and crossing WISP’s off their lists! Tee! Hee! Hee! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! Happy stitching and Bear Hugs!
CHEERS!
KRIS
